CONSORTIUM ACTIVITY PLAN
EPHEMERAL HERITAGE OF THE EUROPEAN CARNIVAL RITUALS (CARNVAL)
WP1: Implementation of a European network of creative and cultural organisations and institutions related to European Carnival rituals as festive events that reflect historical, social and cultural realities.
WP2: Database containing the traditional European festivities related to European Carnival rituals as festive events that reflect historical, social and cultural realities.
WP3: Set up a website whose content will deal with European culture with regard to its traditional Carnival festivities.
WP4: Four Workshops arrangement:
Workshop for sharing knowledge and practices among the creative industries in different European countries that support / promote the celebration and development of traditional festivities (sharing techniques and procedures, management policies, promotion and dissemination actions, etc.).
The different activities shall, in addition to being a technical gathering for specialists, encourage active involvement of different citizen groups (associations of housewives and retirees, primary and secondary students, university students, cultural institutions, etc.), which will highlight its popular and all-inclusive nature. These stakeholder engagement activities are crucial for the project.
Four workshops will be held in four different countries:
- 1st workshop: Viareggio – Italy (5th – 7th project month): Research and development of new methods and technologies applied to cultural heritage assets: Advanced 3D modelling for cultural and creative industries
- 2nd workshop: Tomar – Portugal (10th -12th project month): Analysis, interpretation and understanding European intangible cultural heritage
- 3rd workshop: Putignano – Italy (14th -16th project month): Assessment of the tourism potential of intangible cultural heritage
- 4th workshop: Mainz – Germany (22th -24th project month): Development of new, shared cultural perspectives in Europe
WP5: TV Documentary:
TV Documentary about the most representative traditional Carnival festivities within the European framework. This documentary shall include a selection of exemplary practices related to European Carnival rituals as festive events that reflect historical, social and cultural realities.
WP6: Disseminating and promoting the project
From the start, the different work packages will have generic support aimed at boosting the visibility of their objectives and the dissemination of their results. Likewise, this tool will address the needs of disseminating and announcing each event, activity or product to come out of the program. Actions in different channels shall be considered, from getting involved in related conferences and fairs, to the aide of tools using new technology and social networks.
WP7: Managing and coordinating the project.
In order to distribute the action plan over the different areas of operations, it is vital to coordinate them all in a unified way in accordance with a common guideline, so as to avoid duplicating and repeating unnecessarily and to efficiently optimise existing human and material resources.
